I won't write to much about this one, basically it's total relentless energy! Call it fidget, breakbeat, electro, techno... It's the sorta stuff you'd hear in some dingy little sweat pit

I've been getting some amazing downtempo and ambient tracks recently so I thought this months podcast could be a 30 minute mix of my latest finds. You can probably hear my obsession with pianos, strings and guitars in this. Also anything with memorable and emotional melodies. I'm pretty happy with how this sounds because it's a nice one to put on as a relax or maybe something to let your mind wash away while you travel somewhere. Bitesize 2

Ok with this episode I wanted to try and go back to when I first discovered early dubstep around 2005. Most of back then was a lot more chilled out and dubby, not like the gnarling wobbly lfo sort you here nowadays. With this mix I wanted to go back to it's roots, you'll hear some low sub basslines, emotion lush riffs and little vocal hooks. I had to put one dirty one near the end though! Anyways a bit of a contrast from the first but this is what I'm trying to do with this podcast, a little bit of everything, in a style of my own. Bitesize 1

I thought I'd start the podcast with something explosive. I've had a quiet obsession with the Glitch Mob the last year or so and I wanted to make a mix up of some of my favourite tracks in that style. I don't know what you'd call it but I've heard the term "Glitch Hop" used, to me it has it's roots in hip hop but with a lot of dirty basslines and glitchy edits, it reminds me of some early Tipper stuff. |
Podcast SummaryEach month I'll be bringing you sounds that have influenced me over that time, be it ambient, house, dubstep, breaks, techno... etc. Music is music so anything goes. My Idea for this podcast is to be free with it and not have to stick to a certain genre. Just 30 minutes of good quality music. About EdEd's style has caught recognition from many of the worlds top DJ’s. Having played alongside James Zabiela, Ashley Casselle, Dave Clarke and Funk D’void, Ed was recently championed by Danny Howells as the next “Next Breakthrough DJ” in the Top 100 DJ awards. Previous gigs have seen Ed rocking crowds from London to New York and Hong Kong, his sets seamlessly cross and break boundaries; blending multi genres with DMC finalist turntablist skills into an unique style, making each set a new experience for his listeners. Ed spends countless hours looking for those special records that make his style like no other, always looking in between the cracks to find things others have often missed, this is what really makes his sets stand out from the rest. You may not always know what to expect when Ed hits the decks, but you will always remember... Ed is also a very gifted producer, lecturing in Ableton and Logic Studio in his spare time. His tracks have recently been signed to Dj Rap's Impropa Talent and Ricky Ryan's Avangardia / Sick Watona Imprints. He has also received praise from some of the worlds best Djs for his tracks, counting Richie Hawtin, Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello as proud moments. Ed feels this is only the beginning of his production talents and we will be seeing a lot more in the future. Fans of this Show
